Idaho Power wants to raise electric rates for its customers in Oregon. The Boise, Idaho-based utility filed its general rate case request with the Public Utility Commission on July 29, 2011 to increase their rates by $5.8 million or 14.7 percent overall. The rate impact will vary depending on customer class. The utility cannot change its rates without approval by the Commission.
The Commission staff and customer groups will need about nine months to review every part of the request and make a recommendation to the Commission.
Idaho Power’s last general rate case was in 2009.
