PacifiCorp has made two requests with the Oregon Public Utility Commission to raise customer rates. The first request seeks to recover investments in various infrastructure upgrades and renewable energy projects. It could result in a 13 percent rate hike. The second request addresses anticipated increases in power costs. That one totals 7 percent.
Added together, the average monthly bill for a residential customer could rise by about $16.
PacifiCorp is Oregon’s 2nd largest investor-owned utility with approximately 553,000 customers. If approved, rates would change Jan. 1. 2011.
