Safety, Reliability and Security Section
 
The Commission's Safety, Reliability and Security Division (SRSD) is responsible for developing and enforcing electric and natural gas safety standards within the state. The Commission also inspects the portions of interstate natural gas and hazardous liquid pipelines located within Oregon; the standards and enforcement actions are the responsibility of the federal Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA). The Division supports the State Military Department’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) to coordinate emergency preparedness and disaster response activities. SRSD is the primary coordinating liaison with OEM and Utility Operators in the telecommunications and energy industries.
