Energy Storage Workshop

The Oregon Public Utility Commission (OPUC) and Oregon Department of Energy (ODOE) held an energy storage workshop on March 19, 2014, in Portland, OR.  The workshop was supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, Sandia National Lab, and the University of Oregon School of Law.
Oregon’s 10-Year Energy Action Plan (2012) describes the potential for energy storage to “increase the ability to balance out intermittent resources, such as wind or solar, and provide an alternative to building new infrastructure, such as transmission line expansion.” The workshop will consist of two panel presentations and several breakout discussion sessions on topics related to the current and future potential of energy storage technology in the state.
