Commission Schedules PacifiCorp Rate Increase

Salem, OR - The Oregon Public Utility Commission will hold a public comment hearing in Portland Wednesday evening, February 9, on PacifiCorp’s application for a 13 percent rate increase for the company’s Oregon residential customers.
The hearing will begin at 7 p.m. in Room 140 of the Portland State Office Building, 800 NE Oregon Street, Portland, Oregon.
The company is asking the Commission to approve a general increase in revenues from Oregon operations of $61.8 million related to increased generation and transmission functions to take effect December 6, 2000. The Commission has suspended the filing and is conducting an investigation to determine the reasonableness of the proposed rates.
The company will make a presentation at the hearing explaining its request for a rate increase and the Commission staff will explain its role in the rate case. The public will then be allowed questions and comment.
