Salem, OR - The Oregon Public Utility Commission will hold a public comment hearing in Klamath Falls Tuesday evening, February 15, on PacifiCorp’s application for a 13 percent rate increase for the company’s Oregon residential customers.

The hearing will begin at 7 p.m. in Room 219 of the Klamath Falls Courthouse, 305 Main, Klamath Falls.

The company is asking the Commission to approve a general increase in revenues from Oregon operations of $61.8 million related to increased generation and transmission functions to take effect December 6, 2000. In addition, the company is requesting an additional increase of $26.4 million, or 3.3 percent, for its distribution function to take effect July 1, 2001.

The Commission has suspended the filing and is conducting an investigation to determine the reasonableness of the proposed rates.

At the hearing the company will make a presentation explaining its request for a rate increase and the Commission staff will explain its role in the rate case. The public will then be allowed questions and comment.

A hearing will also be held in Bend, Wednesday evening, February 16, at 7 p.m. at Bend Metro Parks & Recreation, Hollinshead Barn, 1237 N.E. Jones Road.
