Salem, OR - The Oregon Public Utility Commission has hired veteran broadcast journalist Bob Valdez as its Public Information Officer.

For the last ten years he has operated Oregon Audio News, a capitol-based statewide news service specializing with reports on the Oregon legislature and State government for a number of radio and television stations.
He is also President of the State Capitol Press Corps and an Associated Press Award winner.
As Public Information Officer, Valdez will be responsible for communications at the PUC. This will include preparing press releases, fact sheets, consumer bulletins, and other publications for distribution to the news media and general public. He will assume his position on March 1.
