Salem, OR – The Oregon Public Utility Commission is seeking nominations for individuals to serve on its Portfolio Advisory Committee for a term extending from November 1, 2002 to October 31, 2004. The Commission is seeking nominations for:
  • two local government representatives,
  • two residential customer representatives,
  • two public or regional interest group representatives, and
  • two small nonresidential customer representatives.
The Portfolio Advisory Committee was formed to facilitate Oregon’s Electric Industry Restructuring. The Committee primarily makes recommendations to the Commission regarding the portfolio of energy options offered to the 1.2 million residential and small commercial customers of Portland General Electric (PGE) and PacifiCorp in Oregon. For more information on Oregon’s Electric Industry Restructuring and the Portfolio Advisory Committee visit the Commission’s WEB site, http://www.puc.state.or.us/.
The Committee must include representatives from the Commission’s staff, the Office of Energy, local governments, electric companies, public and regional interest groups, and small non-residential customers. With the exception of Commission and Office of Energy staff, PGE and PacifiCorp, representation is not limited to the current entities represented on the committee. For example, Portland serves as one of two governmental representatives but could be replaced by another governmental body. A new chairperson will be elected after new members are installed. Residential and small nonresidential customer representatives need not be affiliated with any interest group or entity. Please provide your nominee’s name, address, phone number and a brief description of qualifications by August 1, 2002. Nominations or comments can be e-mailed to janet.fairchild@state.or.us or sent to:
