Salem, OR.  The Oregon Public Utility Commission will host an Open House in Portland the evening of June 9th to provide information and receive comments from the public regarding a request from PacifiCorp to increase the rates it charges customers.
On April 3, 2009 PacifiCorp filed its formal request with the Commission seeking an overall rate increase of 9.1% or $92 million annually. The requested increase is mostly due to increased investment, primarily in wind generating facilities.
If approved as filed, residential customers would see an increase of 6.3 percent, or $5.12 per month on average, while industrial customers would see a 13.7 percent increase. The company has proposed the new rates become effective in early February 2010.
