COMMISSION SEEKS MEMBERS FOR PORTFOLIO OPTIONS COMMITTEE

Salem, OR. The Oregon Public Utility Commission is seeking nominations for individuals to serve on its Portfolio Options Committee from November 2010 to October 2012. The committee makes recommendations to the Commission about the portfolio of energy options offered to the 1.3 million Oregon residential and small business customers of Portland General Electric (PGE) and Pacific Power.

Specifically, the Commission is seeking nominations for:
• two local government representatives,
• two residential customer representatives,
• two small nonresidential customer representatives, and
• two public or regional interest group representatives.
In addition to a basic service (cost of service) option, these customers have a choice of three renewable resource options and a time of use rate.
 
The committee must include representatives from the Commission’s staff, the Oregon Department of Energy (Energy), local governments, electric companies, public and regional interest groups, and eligible customer groups. Except for Commission staff, Energy, PGE and Pacific Power, group affiliations are not limited to the organizations currently represented on the committee. Residential and small nonresidential customer representatives need not be affiliated with any organization.
