Salem, OR.  A new website that went live in May of this year to help Oregonians determine where broadband is available now offers new search options.
The Broadband Map’s new options include additional content and updated features designed to make the map easier to use.
New search enhancements include:
• Data download speeds by location;
• Ability to search by type of broadband technology;
• Ability to search broadband availability by provider;
• Simplified Speed Test feature – user results are used to improve the accuracy of the map’s data;
• A new category of  broadband services on Tribal Lands and;
• Population density.
“The feedback from Oregonians that use the on-line comment tool will help us to improve the accuracy of the map and to make it easier to use,” Bryan Conway, Administrator of the Telecommunications Division of the Oregon Public Utility Commission said. “The more people use the website and provide feedback, the more valuable it will become. Additional map enhancements will be launched later this year, so keep watching the site.”
