Stephen Bloom, Commissioner
Stephen Bloom was appointed to the Oregon Public Utility Commission in November 2011 by Governor John Kitzhaber.  Commissioner Bloom sits on the Oregon Broadband Advisory Council and the Energy Trust of Oregon Board of Directors.
Prior to his appointment, Commissioner Bloom served in the U.S. Navy.  After earning his law degree, Commissioner Bloom worked as a Deputy District Attorney in Umatilla County and later entered private practice where he was a water rights attorney in Eastern Oregon.  He was appointed as U.S. Magistrate Judge for Eastern Oregon in 1988 and served until 2005 when he entered the Peace Corps. After two years in the Peace Corps helping Armenia rebuild its legal system, Commissioner Bloom returned to the U.S. as General Counsel for Everpower Renewables.
Commissioner Bloom earned his law degree from the College of Law at Willamette University and a Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University.
