About Your Bill:
  • Bills are sent monthly.
  • Your bill will show:

    • The meter reading at the beginning and end of the period
    • Date of the meter reading
    • Units used
    • Due date
For an explanation of the charges on a typical bill:
If your utility was unable to read your meter, they may estimate your bill. That will be clearly noted on the bill.

For providing service to your residence, the utility will charge you a monthly fee. It covers the cost of processing accounts, meter reading, and billing. Even if you use no service during a billing period, you will be charged a service charge.

Late Charges:
If a gas or electric utility offers a preferred billing date, then the utility can charge a late payment fee on charges carried forward on the next bill.

If the utility does not offer preferred billing dates, then it cannot charge a late payment fee on balances under $200 or on amounts carried forward for less than two consecutive months.
