Inaugural call for rollout of new 711 Telecommunication relay system.

Details: Commission Chairman Roy Hemmingway will make the inaugural call October 1, 2001 to BettySue Bischoff, who is a hard-of-hearing Leaburg resident. This call officially activates the state's new 711 number which makes it simpler to access the state's telecommunication relay system for the hearing and speech impaired. Effective October 1 individuals will only need to dial three numbers to communicate with deaf, hard-of-hearing or speech-disabled people who use text telephones, also known as TTY devices.
