Salem, OR. The Oregon Supreme Court this week upheld a decision by the Public Utility Commission (PUC) to refund $33.1 million to customers of Portland General Electric (PGE) in 2008 in connection with the closure of the Trojan nuclear power plant.
The decision by the state’s highest court affirms a 2013 decision by the Oregon Court of Appeals.

The PUC ordered the refund after the courts directed the Commission to reconsider an earlier decision to include in customer rates a portion of PGE’s remaining investment in the Trojan nuclear plant.
